Chart-Air
Aviation provides private charter aircraft flights throughout the UK and
Europe, ranging from small helicopters to fast executive jets,
large airliners and cargo aircraft. On this page we will attempt to
give our clients a rough idea of the cost of private aircraft hire and
charter. All charter flights are different so for a specific enquiry
please request a quotation from us. But we feel it is useful to give
an idea of cost first so here are details of how the cost is
calculated and what services you can expect on each air charter flight.
|
Helicopter Charter Services
The smallest helicopter we
supply is the Robinson R44, which can carry three passengers.
This type is not available at all locations in the UK, but the
cost is from £450 per flying hour. Larger types such as the Bell
Jet Ranger and EC120 are based all over the UK and cost from
£700 per hour. For five or six passengers the Twin Squirrel or Agusta 109 cost from £1200 per hour, they are twin-engined and
can fly in poor weather and at night. For eight or nine
passengers the luxurious Sikorsky 76 is used, costing from £2200
per hour, and finally for up to 20 passengers we offer the Super
Puma at £5000+ per hour. On top of these costs are landing and
handling costs, which vary for every flight. VAT must be added
for domestic flights but most larger helicopters (over six
seats) are exempt.

Air Taxi Services
Air taxi charter flights cost from £450 per hour for a Piper Seneca,
carrying four passengers, to £700 for a six-seat Piper Navajo, or
£1000 an hour for a Beech King Air capable of carrying 6-8 passengers.
VAT is charged for domestic flights on aircraft carrying up to six
passengers. Plus landing and handling charges which vary for each
flight.
Private Jet Hire Services
Private jet aircraft cost from £1,500 per flying hour for the smaller
jets such as a Cessna Citation or Premier 1, through £2,000+ an hour
for a mid-size aircraft such as the Hawker 800, to £3,500 for a
Challenger which can carry 10 passengers. For larger jets the hire cost is
from £4,000 to £10,000 per hour depending on the size of aircraft and
degree of luxury required. At this end of the market the aircraft
provide every possible amenity and the highest levels of in-flight
service and comfort.
Airliner Charter
Airliners can cost from £1,500 per hour for a small turboprop aircraft
with 18 - 20 passenger seats, to £8,000 per hour for a large jet
airliner. There are many different airliner types available to charter and prices
vary considerably, but expect a 148-seat jet airliner to cost £4,000
per hour and £5,000 per hour for a 228-seater. As before landing and
handling costs must be included plus government passenger taxes.
|
Cargo Aircraft Charter
Cargo aircraft costs are similar to
those of similar sized passenger aircraft, but for larger loads there
are dedicated cargo types, mostly Russian, which have no airliner
equivalents. Such types as the Antonov 12 turboprop cost from $3000
per hour, the Ilyushin IL-76 jet costs from $5,000 per hour and the
large Antonov 124 freighter costs from $10,000 per hour.
